It is
an ancient technique carried out with coloured pigments and colouring
earths mixed with glue.
The most used glues were: eggs and natural ones. It is made on a very smooth
and dry plastering. The first step is the drawing preparation using
a pencil or a charcoal crayon.
The pictorial execution and the colour preparation are carried out
after the drawing has been made.
When tempera is well dried, a cloth with colouring earth and wax gives the
antique look.
